Having holidayed in France every year for the past 17 years, we were continually on the look out for the perfect place to buy. We eventually purchased our dream French home, La Basse Boulais in April 2015.
In 2007 we booked a two week family holiday at La Basse Boulais. Not only did we have a fabulous holiday and fall in love with the area, we also fell in love with the large, spacious gite. Alas at that time it was not for sale and so our search for our dream property continued. That was until one cold, rainy night in October 2014 when randomly searching the internet for properties, La Basse Boulais appeared on the screen “For Sale.”
“Excited” was an understatement, and the purchasing process began. Firstly we booked a re-visit, and as soon as we drove down the drive it confirmed to us that we still loved the place some 7 years after staying there. This led to us sorting our finances, making an offer and then organising all of the paper work for the purchase of the property. Whilst very bureaucratic it is a process anyone can follow with patience, a little effort and the help of Google translate!
Whether we are here for a long weekend or for weeks at a time it doesn’t take long for us to unwind and relax.
If you have questions regarding buying in France we would be happy to share our experiences over a glass of wine anytime when we are about.
We hope you will enjoy it as much as much as we do, put your feet up relax and unwind.
